CookieCon 2014

Good morning!

I got back from CookieCon 2014 yesterday, and thought I'd post a quick note today before I start in on spring cleaning.  Joy!

Anyhoo, CookieCon was quite an event.  It ran from March 20 - March 22, 2014. I saw some drop-dead gorgeous cookies, met lots of new and interesting cookie people, and got to visit downtown Salt Lake City, Utah.  And I bought lots of stuff.  But I needed all of it. Really.

Like this t-shirt:

And this apron:

And a handful of stencils, a couple cookie cutters, and some disco dust. The swag bags were awesome. They included oodles of amazing things, including boxes galore from BRP Box Shop!  I love pretty boxes, don't you?

I roomed with a lovely lady I met online on the Cookiers R Us forum, katydoescookies (we just call her Katy). On Friday night Katy and I met up with some of the other forum ladies and had dinner, then we all went back to the hotel and had a cookie tasting party in one of the conference rooms. It was fun to taste all the different cookies and see what other people are baking.  And they were all yummy, of course!  But escpecially the black currant cookies. Amazing!

And, in a bit of good fortune, I got to fly the first leg of my journey home with Susie from SweetiePettiti. Our assigned seats were right next to each other.  How cool is that?

Anyhoo, I didn't really get any good pictures of the conference...it was just too big. About 450 cookie people attended.  Here's a shot of the banquet from Saturday night. Lots of people!

Anyhoo, that's all for now.  If you were at CookieCon, drop me a line and let me know what you thought, and tell me who you are in the picture. (Just kidding.)

  1. There are many who would say flying home next to one of the sickest people at CC was not good fortune! Hopefully I am well beyond contagious. My second flight was on an old WWII bomber with no pressurization....or at least that's how my ears felt for 24 hours! It was great seeing you, and flying with you too! I know your family was happy to have you home. Cute T-Shirt!

    1. Aww, I'm glad you made it home in one piece. My next plane was only slightly larger than the first...and I was surrounded by infants, but they were pretty good. Lol. Hope you're all better by now!

    1. You know, it was a little overwhelming...so much to see and do. I may do a longer post a little later. But it's good to be home. :-)
